Fernando Torres is happy that his former clubs are set to return to the Champions League this season.
The Spaniard was a cult hero and captain from an early age at his current club Atletico Madrid before he agreed to join Liverpool.
Torres was a major hit for The Reds, netting 30 goals in his first term in England. The prolific goalscorer then decided to move to rivals Chelsea for a record fee. However, he did not enjoy as much success. He left on a good note as he played a part in the Champions League win of 2012.
The player moved back to his boyhood club two seasons back and he has been enjoying his career so far. With Chelsea and Liverpool set to return to the Champions League, the player has been wishing them well.
Following the CL draw where Chelsea, Atletico, AS Roma and Qarabag were grouped. Torres sent a message to Chelsea fans as he might be returning to play against them.
“Back at Stamford Bridge for the UEFA Champions League. So happy to see the Blues back at the competition. See you soon Chelsea,” he posted online.
