In-form Bursaspor striker Ali Akman has revealed that Fernando Torres is one of his football idols. The young attacker said he looks up to Fernando Torres and three others in the March edition of the Turkish Football Federation Magazine. Akman also mentioned Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, Inter Milan hitman Lautaro Martinez and Liverpool player Roberto Firmino apart from Fernando Torres. On Firmino, Akman said that he likes his playing style and how he doesn’t really play as a number nine. According to him, Firmino plays like a 10 and not a forward before adding that he’s learning from his style of play.

TORRES LEAVES COACHING ROLE TEMPORARILY
Fernando Torres has reportedly left his coaching role at Spanish La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid temporarily. The Atletico Madrid idol is back at the club he loves dearly as a coach several months after he made the decision to hang up his boots. Fernando Torres has a coaching role with the Atletico B team. The ex-Spanish national team player is working towards his UEFA coaching qualifications and has decided to join the coaching staff at the Atletico Madrid reserve and youth team setup.

ALISSON WOULD HAVE BEEN CHELSEA’S KEPA
Liverpool shot stopper Alisson could have ended up at Stamford Bridge had the club not hesitated, we have learnt. The former Serie A goalkeeper used to ply his trade at AS Roma. It was largely believed that the Brazilian wanted out of his then club, with the Premier League his choice destination.
Thibaut Courtois was close to a move to Real Madrid, after being linked to the Spanish giants for years. The Spaniard wanted to be reunited with his family still in Madrid – where he spent three years on loan at Atletico – and he was quite vocal about his intentions. It was only a matter of time.
TORRES TO RETURN TO ANFIELD
Fernando Torres will return to Anfield for the first time since departing the club for Chelsea in 2011 as Liverpool legends face Barca legends in March. Torres left Liverpool for Chelsea in January 2011 for a reported £50 million.
Torres, 37, scored 81 goals in 142 appearances for the club, and will represent Liverpool for the first time since 2011.

The days when Chelsea fans used to dread about who wore their no. 9 shirt seems to be coming to an end. Ever since the disaster of Fernando Torres in that role, the Blues have struggled to have any regular Joe take up the mantle of a striker and gift the team goals.
