Premier League legend turned pundit Jamie Carragher has praised the impact of Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United since the Portuguese player signed for the Red Devils last year. Bruno Fernandes has likened his impact at the start of his Manchester United career to the one enjoyed by both Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres at the start of their respective Liverpool careers.
The Red Devils have graduated from Premier League title pretenders to Premier League title contenders thanks to the impact made by Bruno Fernandes since his arrival from Portuguese club football giants Sporting Lisbon. Manchester United paid an initial fee of £47m to secure his transfer in January 2020.
Jamie Carragher likened Bruno Fernandes’ impact to the one made by Fernando Torres on Liverpool when he signed for them in the summer of 2008. Fernando Torres left boyhood club Atletico Madrid to join the Reds and he proved to be a phenomenal player for Liverpool before his controversial move to Chelsea in January 2011.He was sold to the Blues for £50m and Liverpool reinvested some of that cash to sign Uruguayan international star Luis Suarez from Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Luis Suarez signed for Liverpool in a £22.8m transfer shortly after the departure of Fernando Torres and he went on to have a very good career at Anfield before his exit in 2014.
